Ingredients
2 ½ cups All Purpose Flour
⅔ cup Powered Sugar
¾ cup Toasted Pecans
1 cup Butter, cubed
Filling
⅔ cup Honey
2 tbsp Water
½ cup Dark Brown Sugar, firmly packed
6 tbsp Heavy Cream
6 tbsp Butter
¼ tsp Salt
1 tsp Vanilla extract
3 cups coarsely chopped toasted pecans
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven 350℉
Step 2
Line 13x9 inch pan with aluminum foil allowing 2-3 inches to extend over sides; lightly grease foil with cooking spray.
Step 3
Prepare Crust: Pulse Flour, powdered sugar, pecans and salt in food processor 8-10 times or until throughly combined and pecans are finely chopped; add butter and pulse 8-9 times or until mixture resembles coarse meal. Press mixture onto bottom of prepared pan.
Step 4
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely on wire rack (about 25mins.)
Step 5
Prepare Filling: Bring honey, water, dark brown sugar, sugar and heavy cream and butter to a boil in a large saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until butter melts and mixture is smooth; boil, stirring constantly, 1 minute.
Step 6
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and 3 cups of coarsely chopped/toasted pecans. Pour hot filling over prepared crust.
Step 7
Bake at for 14-16 minutes or until filling bubbles in center. Cool bars completely in pan on a wire rack. (About 1 hr.).
